ZUMC Party Secretary Peng Shaojian Welcomed SINSIN Augustin Brice from University of Abomey-Calavi

Professor SINSIN Augustin Brice Visited ZUMC Hoping to Send Teachers for Training

Professor SINSIN Augustin Brice, President of University of Abomey-Calavi, together with Dr. SEGBO Julien Augustin Gaétan, Dean of Calavi Confucius Institute, paid their visit to ZUMC on December 10th 2015. ZUMC Party Secretary Peng Shaojian, Qi Yaoyun, Dean of School of Chinese Broadcasting & Presenting Art, Zhang Bangwei, Dean of School of Literature Arts, Paul Bao, Deputy Director of ZUMC International Office attended the welcome meeting.


Professor Peng welcomed SINSIN Augustin Brice and his delegate, and made a brief introduction of ZUMC with the emphasis of ZUMC’s cultivation of international students in recent years. According to Peng’s introduction, at present, ZUMC has 21 students from Tanzania learning Mandarin Chinese at its School of Chinese Broadcasting & Presenting Art. Professor Peng expressed his hope on behalf of ZUMC to discuss with Professor SINSIN Augustin Brice on matters of offering Chinese programmes to students from Abomey-Calavi.

SINSIN Augustin Brice indicated that he was very pleased to visit ZUMC and to establish cooperation with Chinese universities. Founded in 1970, University of Abomey-Calavi has over 80,000 full time students studying at more than 40 departments and institutes. On learning that the majority of the students are interested in the study of journalism, the University is now in the middle of preparing its Department of Journalism and related sections. Knowing that ZUMC is one of the best universities in China in the field of journalism and communications, he hoped that they could send teachers to receive trainings at ZUMC.

Professor Peng concluded the welcome meeting with hope to have more time for further talks with the SINSIN’s delegation in future. Following the meeting, accompanied by Paul Bao, Deputy Director of ZUMC International Office, Professor SINSIN and Dr. SEGBO Julien Augustin Gaétan visited the campus and met the students from Tanzania.
